Balanced design
The Gurkha sandal originated from the military shoes worn by Gurkha soldiers, who were made up of Nepalese hill tribes in the 19th century. The design is such that it wraps around the entire foot without exposing the toe or heel, which covers the weak point of sandals – their weak holding power – while also providing good breathability. The instep is adjustable with a belt strap, making it easy to fit even those with a high instep.
