Each Karen Silver bead has its own fine pattern, which shows the craftsmanship of the artisan. These beads have been produced in Venice since the early 1800’s and have been used by Western countries to trade with Africa, Asia, North and South America. It has been passed down from generation to generation as a traditional ornament to African tribes, Asian minorities and Native Americans.

Wax makes tough cords tougher
Wax is impregnated into polyester fibres to make them tougher. The polyester fibres are soaked in wax and spun to make the normally strong cord even stronger. It also gives the cord a nice patina when used.
