A denim line from “THE UNION,” founded by Kohei Makita, who launched the brand “MOTIVE” that swept the street scene during the heyday of Ura-Harajuku, and moved its base to Osaka in 2009. They aim to be a denim brand that remains unchanged and can be worn for a long time, focusing on classics.
Classic Dark Indigo Color
The fabric is made of 13oz natural denim with a natural unevenness characteristic of one-wash processing. It has a moderate meaty texture and a dry touch, allowing you to wear it comfortably throughout the long season. Moreover, it is surprisingly soft, and the comfortable feeling when worn from the beginning is also a delightful point.
When you fold up the hem, the so-called “red ear” selvedge peeks out. This classic detail adds a sense of sophistication to your feet.
Classical Details
The front closure uses donut buttons engraved with the brand name “THE.” Also, it features classic finishes such as 5-pocket style with punched-type rivets that accentuate the fabric texture.
The front adopts “WELCOM POCKET,” an original detail of the brand that makes it easier to put in and take out hands by opening the wing parts at both ends of the pocket when worn in. The back pocket features a T-HORN back stitch that evokes the initials “T” of THE, adding a subtle accent.
Exquisite Stitching Work
A triple stitch with the middle thread color changed is adopted on the back center yoke. It achieves a clean silhouette without becoming too loose when wearing thick denim, while also having excellent durability.
