The fabric is made of “HDCS (super high-density stuffed jersey slub cotton)”. The fabric is high-density cotton produced by skilled craftsmen using an old-style loom inherited from the immediate postwar period.
With a density approximately three times that of a typical T-shirt, the fabric has a heavy and sturdy feel that is appealing. In addition, slub yarns are drawn together during the knitting process to create an uneven, washed-out texture.
